Nick Ottinger, a resident of Claremont, NC, began his sim-racing career in 2010. Despite no prior sim-racing experience, Ottinger settled into iRacing quickly, claiming multiple victories in the Legends and Street Stock Rookie series. This success resulted in a Street Stock championship in 2011, setting a record for most points scored in a season for the iRacing Service. In late 2011, Ottinger was recruited by NASCAR driver Cale Gale to start a Pro- and WC-level oval team, now known as Gale Force Sim Racing. Following a successful 2011 NASCAR Pro Series season, Ottinger moved up to the NASCAR PEAK Antifreeze series in 2012, winning in his first ever start at Phoenix International Raceway. Since then, the driver has won at least two races in each season, as well setting a record for most wins in a season (6), and being the first driver to lead every lap in a race.
